"Historical Center" "Where Did We Come From"   This is the Historical Branch located in the Navy Shipyard in Washington, DC. They should be contacted for historical information concerning the Marine Corps. As an example, I was speaking to them concerning my dad and how he served on Saipan. A week later I received a book about Saipan. WONDERFUL! Anything technical/historical should be directed here. These people are nice and will be most helpful. Their number is 202-433-3874/3447.   They will also send you a book titled "Guide to the Marine Corps Historical Center". Be sure to ask for it. It is full of great information. (Just call and ask). Really! I'm not kidding.   They know all about the past Marine Corps and are willing to help whoever calls for information.
