This little piece of rock in the middle of the Philippine sea has been the source of great pain for our family for 55 years.

There are, to the best of our knowledge, no photos of dad in existence, except for what is here. There are no pictures of him with his unit, or on Saipan, etc. We know he was there as his discharge papers stated he was wounded on Saipan. We also know, based on official Marine Corps records, that dad was in on the initial assault, June 15, 1944 and was wounded and left combat on July 2, 1944.

The next best thing we can do is place some pictures of his unit up that are official Marine Corps photos taken at the time. A retired Marine living by Ben made them available and he gladly scanned them in. In our minds eye, one of these Marines is our dad.
